Choices about descriptors are informed by regular consultation with leaders in the fields of mental health, law, and ethics. We value inclusive language, privacy, and following ethical and legal guidelines, and use expert opinion when choosing whether to omit or include certain descriptors. We expect that our descriptors will evolve over time as we include the helpful feedback of our members.
